Coronavirus: will Amazon’s conviction be emulated?

The condemnation of the American group by a French court led it to close its logistics centres in France. But more than security breaches, the case seems to point out Amazon’s shortcomings in terms of social dialogue.
“It is a political rather than legal decision, which will have a snowball effect,” predicts Sabrina Kemel, a labour lawyer at FTMS. “It will strengthen the trade unions and employees in the exercise of the right of withdrawal and the right to warn of serious and imminent danger,” she says.
